The major and longest tunnel of T-49 between Sumber and Arpinchala stations of the Katra-Banihal section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project was linked by Indian Railways. The local population was engaged for numerous tasks throughout the lengthy tunnel’s construction. India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge was shared by the Ministry of Railways. The Anji Khad Bridge will connect the J&K sections of Katra and Reasi. The bridge is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla project, which spans 272 kilometres.
“T-49 is 12.758-Km-long tunnel and it is going to be the longest tunnel of Indian Railway surpassing Peer Panjal Tunnel of 11.2 Km length completed by USBRL on Banihal-Qazigund route,” Northern Railways stated in a series of tweets.
