India Reported 2.82 lakh Fresh Covid-19 Cases and 441 Deaths on Wednesday

According to the statistics from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded a single-day increase of 2,82,970 new Covid-19 infections on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,79,01,241. According to official statistics published today, this includes 8,961 occurrences of the Omicron variety. The government says there has been a 0.79 percent rise in Omicron cases since Tuesday. In the previous 24 hours, 441 people have died, bringing the total number of deaths to 4,87,202.
The number of active cases has risen to 18,31,000, the most in 232 days. On May 31, last year, there were 18,95,520 active cases. According to the government, active cases account for 4.83 percent of total illnesses, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has dropped to 93.88 percent.
With 50% of eligible teens having received the first dosage of the vaccine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Wednesday, “Young and youthful India leading the way! This is encouraging news. Let us keep the momentum.” Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya remarked Tuesday as the big day for India’s fight against Covid-19. Around half of our children aged 15 to 18 have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. The enthusiasm of youngsters to get vaccinated is motivating people all over India.
According to a data released by the Union Ministry of Health on Wednesday, over 158.88 crore vaccinations have been administered throughout the country till now.
56 lakh third booster dosages had been given out of this total. The campaign to immunise eligible groups – health care workers, front line workers, and those over the age of 60 – with doses began last week, on January 10.
