India registers over 27,409 cases, 347 deaths in the last 24 hours

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 27,409 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday, while active cases remained below 5 lakhs.
For the eighth day in a row, the daily COVID-19 cases have stayed below 1 lakh.
The death toll has risen to 5,09,358 with 347 additional fatalities, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.
The number of active cases has decreased to 4,23,127, accounting for 1.12% of all infections.
According to the government, the daily positive rate was 2.23 percent.
The number of persons who have recovered from the viral sickness has risen to 4,17,60,458, according to the report.
The total number of doses provided in the country as part of the state-wide COVID-19 immunisation effort has surpassed 173.42 crore.
There have been 347 fresh fatalities, with 117 from Kerala, 25 from Karnataka, and 23 from West Bengal.
So far, 1,43,416 deaths have been reported in Maharashtra, 62,377 in Kerala, 39,665 in Karnataka, 37,932 in Tamil Nadu, 26,076 in Delhi, 23,399 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,040 in West Bengal.
The health ministry emphasised that comorbidities were responsible for more than 70% of the fatalities.
