India registers 2,38,018 new COVID cases, down 20K from the previous day; the number of Omicron cases rises to 8,891.

The Union Health Ministry reported a single-day increase of 2,58,089 new COVID-19 cases in India. There have been 8,891 instances of the Omicron variety found throughout 29 states and union territories, up 8.31 percent from yesterday. According to the government, current COVID cases account for 4.62 percent of all infections.
