India records 34,113 COVID cases in a single day, with active cases falling below 5 lakh after 37 days

According to statistics from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 34,113 new coronavirus infections on Monday, bringing the total to 4,26,65,534, while active cases fell below 5 lakhs after almost 37 days.
For the eighth day in a row, daily COVID-19 instances have stayed below 1 lakh.
The death toll has risen to 5,09,011 with 346 new fatalities, according to figures updated at 8 a.m. The number of active cases has decreased to 4,78,882, accounting for 1.12% of all infections. According to the government, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.68%.
In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has been reduced by 58,163 cases. The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 3.19 percent. According to the government, the weekly positive rate was 3.99 percent.
The total number of patients who have recovered from the viral infection has risen to 4,16,77,641. According to the report, the case mortality rate was 1.19 percent.
The total number of doses provided in the country as part of the state-wide COVID-19 immunisation effort has surpassed 172.95 crore.
