India records 13,405 new Covid cases & 235 deaths on Tuesday

            According to Union Health Ministry figures released on Tuesday, India added 13,405 new coronavirus infections in a single day, bringing the virus count to 4,28,51,929, while active cases fell below two lakh after 49 days.

The death toll has risen to 5,12,344 with 235 new deaths, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.

For the last 16 days, the daily Covid-19 instances have stayed below one lakh.

The number of active cases has decreased to 1,81,075 (0.42% of overall infections), while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.38%, according to the ministry.

In the last 24 hours, the active Covid-19 burden has been reduced by 21,056 cases.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 1.24 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was 1.98 percent.

The number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,21,58,510, with a case fatality rate of 1.20 percent.

The total number of doses provided in the country as part of the state-wide Covid-19 immunisation effort has surpassed 175.83 crore.

Among the 235 fresh casualties are 128 from Kerala and 21 from Karnataka.

So far, the country has reported 5,12,344 deaths, including 1,43,586 in Maharashtra, 64,273 in Kerala, 39,816 in Karnataka, 37,981 in Tamil Nadu, 26,105 in Delhi, 23,435 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,143 in West Bengal.
