India: Omicron cases crossed over 2000 and 58,097 new cases in last 24 hours

According to the Ministry of Health and Family welfare, On Wednesday Jan 5th India recorded over 58,097 new cases and 534 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The daily optimism rate has now risen to 4.18%, while the weekly positive rate has risen to 2.60%.
As a result, the number of active coronavirus cases in the country has increased to 2,14,004.
India’s death toll has also risen by 534 in the previous 24 hours, to 4,82,551.
The number of Omicrons in India has surpassed 2,000.
On Tuesday, the Omicron tally surpassed 2,000 and is currently present in 24 states and UTs. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 828 of the 2,135 Omicron infections in India have been discharged, recovered, or relocated.
