            South Africa won by 31 runs against India to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Earlier, Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen hit hundreds for South Africa, who finished with a total of 296/4 in 50 overs. The pair contributed 204 runs for the fourth wicket, the Protea’s second-highest stand for any wicket against India in ODIs. For India, Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin took one.
