Sri Lanka is in the midst of its most severe economic crisis in recent memory. Due to a lack of fuel and hydropower, residents are subjected to daily power outages. The Central Bank allowed the local currency to float freely, resulting in a significant price hike. The economic crisis in Sri Lanka is having an impact on coastal areas of southern India, particularly Tamil Nadu. In two groups, 16 Sri Lankan nationals, all Tamils from the north’s Jaffna and Mannar areas, arrived in Tamil Nadu.
