According to the Ministry of the Interior, just 9,617 infants were born in Taiwan last month, down 3,520 from the previous month’s 13,137 births. This is the first time since January of last year that the number of newborns has not exceeded 10,000. In February, a total of 14,887 individuals died across the country.
