The national powerhouse in high school #football #IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) defeated Bishop Sycamore (Columbus) 58-0 to start the 2021 season, sparking a wave of criticism that resulted in the cancellation of the unfortunate Ohio program.
In Florida on Friday night, IMG Academy delivered a hammering that made the Bishop Sycamore result appear kind. The Ascenders, who are now ranked No. 10 nationally by MaxPreps, scored 96 unanswered points in the first half against West Toronto Prep (Ontario, Canada).
IMG Academy (7-1) was leading 96-0 at the half when the game was abandoned. IMG Academy has outscored opponents 254-0 in its last four games. It’s unclear why the Ascenders scheduled West Toronto Prep (0-6) in the first place. The Canadian team has yet to win a game this season and has only scored six points while surrendering 195, including losses of 61-0 to McDowell (Erie, Pennsylvania) on October 14 and 55-0 to McCallie (Chattanooga, Tennessee), respectively.
