“Hank the Tank” bear on the run California police reported.

California authorities are looking for Hank the bear burglar, who has broken into scores of houses in a Lake Tahoe neighborhood since last summer. Hank acquired his moniker by barging his way into locked and occupied houses. Because he has become so accustomed to humans, wildlife organizations are urging him to be transported to a refuge. According to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, Hank, also known as “King Henry” in the news, is “easily recognizable owing to [his] abnormally enormous size and black coat with a lighter snout.”
The bear burglar weights 500 pounds (227 kilograms), far bigger than the usual bear, and appears to have missed winter hibernation owing to a consistent food source.
