GT vs LSG in IPL 2022 Gujarat Titans overcome tough times to defeat Lucknow Super Giants in their debut

            Gujarat Titans trounced Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets to kick off their IPL campaign on a high note. Chasing 159 for victory, Rahul Tewatia (40 not out) and Abhinav Manohar (15*) kept their nerves and guided Gujarat to victory with two balls to spare. Earlier, bowler Dushmantha Chameera dismissed Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar early in the powerplay, leaving Gujarat Titans reeling at 44 for two after six overs at Wankhede Stadium. After his team lost two early wickets in the chase, skipper Hardik Pandya joined Matthew Wade. Hardik and Wade added a 50-point partnership before dying in rapid succession. Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni performed a rescue act for Lucknow, adding a 50-run stand. The two rescued the Lucknow Super Giants from a dangerous situation, as the team reached 158 for six in 20 overs. Before Hooda and Badoni restored the Lucknow innings, Shami (3/25) bowled one of the most breath-taking periods in IPL history.
