Speaking to Jatin Sapru on his YouTube show ‘Over and Out’, Gambhir noted that when you are leading a side, personal connections may be ignored, and that he has no regrets about what was said at the time.

“That’s OK; I’m comfortable with it, and I expect him to be like that. That’s how I am. I enjoy that competition, and I enjoy individuals that are competitive. MS Dhoni is a competition in his own right, and Virat is a contender in his own right as well. When you’re leading the side, you have to do things even if you don’t want to because you want your squad to play the way you want them to. As a leader, you may not think about personal ties with the other man, but you must since you are leading a team”, He stated.
