New Delhi: Tata Sons named Ilker Ayci, the former Chairman of Turkish Airlines, as the new CEO and MD of Air India on Monday.
On or before April 1, 2022, Ilker Ayci will undertake his duties. Ilker Ayci’s candidacy was approved by Air India’s board of directors today. A special invitee to this board meeting was N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons. Tatas had already taken control of Air India, its subsidiary Air India Express, and a 50% interest in the joint venture AISATS on January 27. The government sold Air India to Talace for Rs 18,000 crore after a competitive bidding process.
