Fire at Bengal Hospital’s Covid ward; One dead

            A fire at the Burdwan Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal killed one COVID patient.

According to India Today, the patient was identified as Sandhya Roy, a 60-year-old inhabitant of East Burdwan district.

The fire started on Saturday morning in the COVID ward of Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, according to sources. Firefighters were dispatched right away, however the COVID patient died as a result of his injuries sustained in the fire. The patient’s family attempted to put out the fire right away, but it took an hour for the fire to be put out.

In the meanwhile, a five-member team has been constituted to investigate the situation.
