Everton manager Frank Lampard says he fractured his hand celebrating his team’s stoppage-time win over Newcastle, but he would do it every week if it guaranteed similar results.
Alex Iwobi scored in the 99th minute after teammate Allan was sent off on 83 minutes due to a second-half protest.
“I did that to celebrate the goal”, Lampard stated as his team climbed three points clear of the drop zone.
“I simply had a connection with something”.
He continued, saying: “I didn’t punch anything, but two minutes later I noticed my hand was shaking and throbbing. For the three points, I’ll take it”.
