Epic Games claims to have raised more than $50 million (£37 million) for humanitarian help in Ukraine. Unicef, Direct Relief, the UN Refugee Agency, and the World Food Program are among the organizations to which the corporation donates. Xbox is donating the money it would normally charge for Fortnite customers’ purchases. “When the Russian military invaded Ukraine, we felt it was our responsibility to offer whatever assistance we could to other families.” There’s also the now-defunct itch.io bundle, which collected £4.7 million by giving 1,000 games in return for a £7.56 minimum payment.
