The Taliban administration checked that personnel had grown beards and followed a dress code at the gates to all government offices. According to accounts, the Taliban administration’s public morals ministry told all government employees not to cut their beards. Workers were informed that they would no longer be permitted to access offices and would be dismissed if they did not comply with the dress requirements.
