Earthquake of 6.5 Richter in Philippines

An offshore earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.5 rocked the Philippines Davao Occidental region on Saturday, according to officials, who added that no tsunami warning was issued.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake struck at a depth of 66 kilometers, around 234 kilometers southeast of Balut Island in Sarangani municipality, at 10.26 a.m. (local time).
According to the institute, the tectonic quake will create aftershocks and damage but will not cause a tsunami.
Because to its location along the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, the Philippines experiences significant earthquake activity.
