Covid-related restrictions on worshipers visiting Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, have been lifted. Devotees will no longer be needed to provide vaccination certificates or RT-PCR negative test results to attend the 12th-century shrine from February 21. The decision was made during a meeting of the Chhatisa Nijog (apex body of temple servitor groups), which also included SJTA Chief Administrator Krishan Kumar, to review preparations for President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit on February 19.
“The Chhatisa Nijog decided to do away with these regulations for the devotees since the daily Covid-19 instances had reduced significantly,” Krishan Kumar explained.
