COVID-19 wave is dropping in Mumbai, with roughly 11-12k cases expected today, according to a Maharashtra task force member.

Dr. Shashank Joshi, a member of the Maharashtra COVID-19 task group, has stated that the city’s COVID-19 wave is flattening and that roughly 11,000 to 12,000 cases are expected in Mumbai today.On Monday, the daily caseload in both the city and the state dropped by 30 and 24.59 percent, respectively, after reporting nearly 40,000 and 20,000 Covid cases in a single day. In the last 24 hours, there have been 13,648 new illnesses and five fatalities in the city, bringing the overall number of infections to 9,28,220, with 16,411 deaths so far. On Monday, Maharashtra recorded 33,470 new cases and eight deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 69,53,514, with 1,41,647 deaths thus far. This dip has been ascribed to a decrease in Covid testing, according to officials.
