Covid-19 Latest News Updates: More than 30 businesses will begin producing a low-cost version of Pfizer’s Covid tablet.

Pfizer Inc’s highly effective oral antiviral Paxlovid will be manufactured by 35 generic drugmakers throughout the world. The therapy will be provided by the pharmaceutical companies in 95 impoverished nations. Pfizer and Merck have both reached agreements with the organisation to allow generic copies of their new products to be sold in some regions of the world. Since then, the corporations have been trying to choose which drugmakers to licence.

According to the MPP, 35 businesses will produce Paxlovid or its active constituent. The World Health Organization has designated Pfizer’s medicine as a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern.” The company expects to generate at least 120 million tablets this year, far less than the 250 million it predicted for 2022.
