Congress demands apology for Nirmala Sitharaman’s ‘UP-Type’ remark

1 min read

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, claimed yesterday that the government had delivered a ‘zero-sum budget’ with no provisions for the middle class, farmers, or the poor. This drew a mocking response from Union ministers who suggested that the opposition leader had misunderstood the ‘futuristic’ measures.

As the two sides exchanged insults, the opposition party attacked Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, accusing her of insulting the people of Uttar Pradesh and demanding she apologise to them.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal also slammed Rahul Gandhi, claiming that he has a negative attitude regarding whatever the government accomplishes.

Rahul Gandhi states in an Instagram post that there is hopelessness throughout the nation, the youth have no future, and once again, the Modi government’s budget entirely overlooks this sad truth. Nothing for the salaried class, middle class, destitute and deprived, youth, farmers, and SMEs.
