In the midst of the continuous conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Ukraine has finally agreed to prohibit the export of cereals, sugar, and some types of meat. According to the most recent estimates, 2.1 million people have fled Ukraine, far more than during World War II. Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine has so far engulfed the whole country. “In order to avert the humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine, market stability, and satisfy the requirements of the public in key food supplies, the government has set new criteria for the export of agricultural goods,” Agriculture Minister Roman Leshchenko said in a statement on Wednesday.
