1 min read

The cholera outbreak in different parts of Syria has killed at least 29 people, according to the United Nations, making it the most significant attack in the war-torn country in years. Rapid evaluation tests confirmed 338 instances since the outbreak was first reported last month, with the majority of deaths and illnesses concentrated in the northern Aleppo region, according to a statement issued by the Syrian health ministry on Monday.

According to the UN, the outbreak is suspected to be linked to crop irrigation using contaminated water and people drinking contaminated water from the Euphrates River, which runs through Syria from north to east.
