The 45th Chennai Book Fair will be held between February 16 and March 6 by the Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI).
The book fair will be held at the Nandanam YMCA ground in Chennai.
According to a storey published by The Hindu, the state government granted permission for the book fair following a representation from the secretary of BAPASI to host a book exhibition in a way that was organised in 2020 by closely adhering to Covid relevant laws and regulations.
The BAPASI announced that it will lower the number of bookstalls from 1,000 to 800.
More than 80% of the event’s infrastructure is complete. The main pavilion, which spans 3 lakh square feet and can hold 800 booths, is finished, as are the washrooms and the stage for activities in which guests will take part.
The book fair was supposed to take place from January 6 to 23, however it was pushed back because to the third wave of the Covid-19 epidemic.
