Biden ask China not to arm Russia

1 min read

When he chats with his Chinese colleague Xi Jinping later today, US President Joe Biden will urge China not to give Russia with military supplies for its war in Ukraine.

Officials in the United States have chastised Beijing for failing to condemn the incursion.

During his talk to a lunch celebrating Irish heritage on Capitol Hill on St. Patrick’s Day, Biden labelled Russian President Vladimir Putin a “pure thug” and a “murderous tyrant” who was waging a “immoral war” against the people of Ukraine.

Those words come after Biden referred to Putin as a “war criminal” on Wednesday, signalling a major shift in attitude.

Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesperson, told reporters that Biden’s remarks were “totally wrong and reprehensible”.
