As the number of evacuees exceeds three million, 30 buses

According to Reuters, the Red Cross is seeking to evacuate citizens from the north-eastern city of Sumy, which has been heavily shelled, with two convoys of 30 buses today.
A spokeswoman for the organisation also mentioned the catastrophic situation in the besieged southern port of Mariupol, where people are “basically suffocating in this city with no relief”.
According to the UN, the number of people fleeing Ukraine has surpassed three million, with around 1.8 million travelling to Poland.
According to UNICEF, the UN’s children’s agency, over half of the refugees are children, implying that every second Ukrainian kid becomes a refugee.
A significant percentage of individuals fleeing have no family in Europe, no else to go, and are thought to be traumatised by their ordeal.
