COVID-19: China has halted many aircraft from the US

China has already blocked more than a dozen flights from various US airlines and intends to continue doing so in the future. The flight cancellations are the latest episode in a conflict between the two countries over international flights and COVID-19 prevention procedures. American Airlines announced on Tuesday that six of its flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to Shanghai have been cancelled for late January and early February. China presently limits inbound aeroplane capacity to 75% and requires passengers to be tested both before and after their arrival in the country. Depending on the number of positive instances, the airline that carried them may be obliged to cancel two to four flights.
