Apple has invented a new form of sunroof technology for its forthcoming automobile that allows the driver to control the transparency, allowing sunlight inside the vehicle without opening the sunroof. There are also multiple sketches of what appears to be a car’s roof in the paper. Some of the schematics, according to Gizmo China, illustrate how the sunroof will move. “Another feature of the described embodiments is a vehicle with a window and a changeable translucency region specified on the window”.
Apple Car is also planned to deploy LED screens throughout the vehicle to notify other drivers of the operations of the self-driving system. In visual and video form, the display would provide braking information, the vehicle’s speed, and other notifications. When drivers park their vehicles, the displays may display a goodbye message or a greeting when the driver returns.
This technology may not be game-changing. Mercedes-Benz and BMW, for example, have employed analogous technologies. The user will, however, be able to open the sunroof, which is a big advantage offered by the Apple patent. Other automobiles that use transparent glass do not allow air to enter via the sunroof.
According to reports, the forthcoming Apple Car would use a “C1” processor based on the A12 Bionic Chipset with in-cabin AI features as eye-tracking.
