Almost 400 migrants cross the Channel in tiny boats

According to the Home Office, around 400 migrants crossed the English Channel to the UK in tiny boats on Monday.
The French authorities also prevented 101 individuals from crossing, according to a home Office spokesperson.
Border Force captured 12 boats carrying 395 migrants and brought them to UK beaches.
More than 3,000 individuals came in tiny boats this month, up from 831 in March 2021, with 4,559 crossing so far this year.
“The surge in perilous Channel crossings is intolerable”, said Tom Pursglove, minister for combating illegal migration.
