The Taliban have forbidden women from boarding aircraft unless they are accompanied by a male relative, according to officials from Afghanistan’s Ariana Afghan airline and Kam Airline. According to aviation officials, the decision was made during a meeting on Thursday between the Taliban, the two airlines, and airport immigration officials. Many restrictions on women’s liberties have been reinstated after the Taliban’s return to power.
