New Delhi: The Centre claimed on Monday that it has no information on the number of COVID-19 victims whose bodies were discarded in the Ganga river during the pandemic’s lethal second wave.
The opposition is anticipated to react angrily to the comments. Several remains were discovered floating in the Ganga, believed to be COVID-19 patients. The statement comes after the Centre stated that they had “no data on mortality due to oxygen deprivation” during the second wave months ago. Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, has also stated that the Uttar Pradesh government must be held accountable for “failing” its people.
“Bodies discovered floating in the Ganga are not statistics; they are the father, mother, brother, and sister of someone.” What has happened has shaken you to your core.
