The earthquake occurred at 8.43 am, 10 kilometres beneath the surface. According to a report, no injuries or property damage have been reported thus far, according to a representative of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The mild earthquake, with an initial magnitude of 4.3, was felt in some areas of the districts of Jabalpur, Dindori, Mandla, Anuppur, Balaghat, and Umaria.

The epicentre of the earthquake, according to IMD scientist Ved Prakash, was close to Dindori. It was situated 227 kilometres north of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, 270 km northeast of Nagpur, Maharashtra, and 216 km east of Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh.
