In a drop, India recorded about 3.38 lakh new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total caseload to approximately 3.90 crore. The death toll from the deadly coronavirus has also risen to 4.88 lakh, following over 480 more fatalities in the same time period. The number of Omicron cases in the country has also surpassed 10,000, with 358 new infections reported in the previous 24 hours.
The Union Health Ministry reported 3,37,704 additional coronavirus infections on Saturday morning, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,89,03,731, including 10,050 instances of the Omicron variety. According to the statistics released today, the death toll has risen to 4,88,884 488 persons who have died to the terrible infection in the previous 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases has risen to 21,13,365, the largest in 237 days. Active cases account for 5.43 percent of all infections. In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has increased by 94,540 cases. According to the government, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 93.31 percent. The daily positivity rate was 17.22 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was 16.65 percent.
