1st death to omicron recorded at Odisa

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has recorded its first fatality from the Omicron form of Covid-19. The dead patient is a 45-year-old woman from Balangir district who was receiving treatment at the VIMSAR Medical College in Sambalpur.
She died on December 27th, but the reports just came out yesterday, according to Balangir’s CDMO, Snehalata Sahoo.
The woman tested positive for Covid-19 on December 23rd and was sent from Balangir to Sambalpur when her health worsened. On the 27th of December, she breathed her last. Her samples were sent for genome sequencing, and she received her reporterts on Wednesday.
