While multiple alerts have been issued in advance of Republic Day, the Border Security Force has stated that approximately 100 terrorists are stationed at launch pads along the India-Pakistan border and are awaiting launch.

While the situation is under control, the Inspector General of the Border Security Force, Kashmir, Raja Babu Singh, stated in Srinagar that there are reports of 104 to 135 people ready to enter at the launch sites.

He also stated that vigilance is being increased after a few local guides violated the Line of Control. We are keeping an eye on them and their families, he continued.

The border areas have seen a lot of activity. According to an Intelligence Bureau officer, with the number of terrorists in the Valley declining, Pakistan is on a mission to recruit more of them to infiltrate and keep Jammu and Kashmir on fire.

Following the agreement between India and Pakistan on a cease-fire, the situation has mostly stayed normal.

However, many operations like as drugs and arms smuggling, as well as tunnels being created for penetration, have been recorded. The BSG captured 17 firearms and nearly 900 rounds of ammunition, 30 explosive devices, and 38 kilos of drugs by 2021. The BSF had conducted anti-tunnel operations along the International Border. It discovered two tunnels, putting a significant dent in Pakistan’s infiltration plans.
