As punishment for allegedly stealing Rs 70 from a relative’s home, a 10-year-old child was branded with a hot spoon and forced to breath searing chilli.The tragedy occurred in the Tamil Nadu town of Perambalur.
A cousin of the daughter told her mother on Thursday that the toddler had taken Rs 70 from their home. The mother grew enraged when she learned about the occurrence. She branded the youngster with a hot spoon and forced her to inhale the smoke from a burning dried chilli in an attempt to discipline her.The youngster was initially treated with over-the-counter medications, but when her condition worsened, she was admitted to a government hospital. She, on the other hand, died on the way.
Perambur All-Women Police opened an investigation after receiving a complaint from a local administrative officer.
